A lower heart rate. Deeper breaths. Clear Decisions. A good night’s rest.
Anxiety doesn’t have to stop you from living a full and joyful life.
You’re home ready to relax and unwind. Instead you’re sitting in bed, your heart is heart racing again, and you don’t know how to calm yourself. Tomorrow you really need to finally get some work done, but you’re stuck and can’t even figure out how to approach it.
You never seem to be able to get a good night’s sleep. Sometimes you’re unable to fall asleep, tossing and turning. Maybe you wake up in the middle of the night worried about your job, your relationship, your dating life, your family, and more.
You can feel stressed thinking about leaving home to go to the store or to work. You feel overwhelmed by completing life’s tasks. Meanwhile, your friends make everything look easy: work, relationships, juggling responsibilities, a full social life. Your friends are seemingly connected and living full lives. What makes you different?
Your heart rate increases as you walk toward your parking place. You’re able to get into your car, but feel stressed out wondering whether you’ll have to pull over on the highway to calm yourself like last time.
Your internal critical voice is loud. It’s constantly asking you why you can’t focus, can’t make decisions, can’t be like everyone else who’s able to enjoy their lives.
You feel so alone. You might have friends, but you feel uneasy all the time and don’t want to leave your safe zone. You feel stressed thinking of the dating apps you’re on. You’d like to meet someone, but don’t have energy to swipe.
Your mind feels restless, with the thoughts tumbling around endlessly. If you can’t quiet them, how can you focus and listen to what’s happening at work or in your personal life? If you can’t listen to others, you’ll fail at life. If you can’t do the things everyone else is doing, you worry you’ll never feel joy in your relationships.
You’re unable to relax. You’d like to breathe deeply again.

FAQS
What others have wondered about anxiety therapy
-
Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come. For example, going to a job interview or giving a speech on the first day of school may cause some people to feel fearful and nervous. Symptoms can include:
anxious thoughts or beliefs that are difficult to control
restlessness
trouble concentrating
difficulty falling asleep
difficulty staying asleep
fatigue
irritability
unexplained aches and pains
If your feelings of anxiety are interfering with your life, anxiety therapy can be helpful.
Anxiety might come from stress or difficult experiences in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood. Again, anxiety therapy can be helpful. It’s also possible that trauma counseling might be helpful.

That’s a fantastic question. Therapy has been proven to be successful in the treatment of anxiety. Anxiety therapy can help reduce tension and increase calm. That being said, your motivation and commitment to this process is important too. My clients usually are in weekly therapy for at least 4-6 months. However, most of my clients typically see some benefits within a matter of a few weeks.
We will rate your anxiety baseline in your first session. We’ll then keep track of how you’re doing so that we can monitor improvement and collaborate on any adjustments you might need to therapy if things aren’t improving for you.

That’s a great question. While it can take several months or even years to gain some of the benefits of anxiety counseling, I’ve found that within a few weeks to a month, most people can learn how to slow down and deepen their breathing, which is the one thing under our control in our bodies, which reduces feelings of anxiety. The right breathing pattern for you can help slow down your heart rate, your breathing, and increase your sense of calm, peace, and relaxation. Anxiety counseling can also significantly improve your sleep.
In anxiety therapy with me, we’ll develop breathing patterns that are individualized for you. I won’t just tell you to slow down and breathe. I’ll help you learn how to calm and deepen your breath in your own style that works just for you.

The relationship between you and your therapist is crucial to a successful outcome in therapy for any problem. This is often referred to as the therapeutic alliance, or having a “good fit” in therapy.
In other words, how it feels for you in your anxiety counseling sessions with your therapist is the largest factor impacting whether your symptoms of anxiety will change.
