Questions?

Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.

If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.

  • I am available for in-person sessions in Berkeley, and online throughout California.

My office is located in North Berkeley: 1521 Shattuck Avenue, #201, Berkeley, CA 94709

  • In my practice, you’ll receive a link via text or email to a HIPPAA compliant online office. You may then connect to this online patient portal through your phone, laptop, or desktop computer. Many of my clients find that online therapy is flexible to schedule. Some find it more comfortable to meet online than in person.

If you choose online therap, you can connect from your home, office, or even your car!

  • I do offer in-person sessions in my office in North Berkeley, California.

Either during or prior to our session, we will collaborate on what feels comfortable in terms of meeting in person. I have windows that open directly to the outdoors, a fan and air conditioner to bring fresh air into the office, an air purifier, and a heater. Most of my clients also choose for us both to wear masks at this time. Your health concerns are important to me.

  • My fee is currently $200 for a traditional 50-minute therapy hour.

  • During your first appointment, primarily we’ll be getting to know one another. We’ll collaborate to explore what your goals are for therapy, both short-term and longer-term. I’ll get some of your background information and we’ll develop a plan of action, at least for the short term. This plan is typically called a treatment plan.

The most important question I’ll ask you is what you want to make sure I know about during this session.. You are the most important person in the room and what you want to cover is the most important topic!

  • There is no set answer to this question. It typically depends on what you want and need. Therapy ranges from even 1 session, perhaps to teach some coping skills or help someone divulge an uncomfortable secret, or up to years for those who want to really learn about themselves or change lifelong patterns.

If you end up as one of my clients, we’ll be talking about the specific issues and goals you have that will impact this timeframe in the first couple of sessions.

  • I am not in-network with any insurance companies at this time. However, many of my clients use out-of-network services and receive reimbursement for part of the cost of therapy. You may also be able to use your FSA or HSA benefits to pay for therapy directly.

  • A Good Faith Estimate is essentially an estimate of what you will pay for therapy over time. It includes the cost of all regularly scheduled appointments.

You are entitled to a good faith estimate when you begin therapy.
